Otherkin/Non-Human 30 Day Challenge - Day 9
9. What does being not human mean to you?
It means…not being human.
No, I’m really not entirely sure what’s meant by this question. I suppose if I pondered on it long enough I could come up with some philosophical answer, or even a psychological one, maybe, as to what it means emotionally or spiritually or whatever for me to be non-human.
Ultimately, it just means I’m different. But so is...

Either I have more people blocked than I thought
or the otherkin tag isn’t half as bad as I keep expecting it to be. I keep hearing things (especially while surfing it, things posted by kin) about how many trolls there are, but…I guess I just have a lot of people blocked, because I’m only seeing like…one or two trolls a day on it, and even then, only one or two posts. :\
Guys, I don’t know if it’s just...

runicbasso asked: (I saw that! :> Yey! ) I couldn't agree more, though. Perhaps one of the reasons why the Allfather, Odin, speaks to me so prominently (a few of his forms/monikers, one of the more blatant examples being the Wanderer), is the pursuit of knowledge. The pursuit of information, wisdom, hidden things and the like. Even at the cost of one's own happiness and well-being, it is an endless...

runicbasso asked: D'aww, shucks. :> But on that topic - I will agree. It's one thing to be on the road to a perceived *goal*, another to be close enough that you've come to learn that the road is equally, if not more, important than the end of it. Bluh bluh, psedu-philosophical psychobabble over the interbutts. Anyhow. People in Midgard are the strangest.

runicbasso asked: There's something to be said about people using the scientific method to maliciously attempting to tamper the (likely in some sense, metaphysical/spiritual) world view of someone else on the internet: "Most internet 'intellectuals' aren't 'intellectuals' to begin with. They just have an internet connection."

runicbasso asked: I will never fail to be confounded at people making notions that another person's interpretation of the world(s) around them is less valid than the one making the criticism. As a long-time follower, as a Heathen, as a skald, and certainly as someone who practices a couple varieties of traditional Germanic shamanism, let it be known that I feel for you in that regard. In my perspective,...

There's something I don't understand.
pareidolicperspective:
[tw: talk of identity erasure]
I see people talking about how they “can’t” accept certain identities because it “goes against their belief system”. Trans*, therian, otherkin, reincarnates, what have you. ”You tell me you’re an Elf but you’re obviously wrong because I don’t believe in Elves therefore you can’t be an Elf.”
Does that actually seem like sound logic to...

Anonymous asked: I'm so sorry people keep giving you shit. :< The world needs to understand the concept of "You don't have to be wrong for me to be right." You are who and what you are, you exist. That's more than enough for me. Whether our "spiritual belief systems" match up or not truly doesn't matter since that's really not the subject of the conversation. If I...

Here's what I love. [tw: discussion of identity...
People who liken my identity and trying to persuade them to believe me about my identity to trying to convert them to another religion.
They said they were gonna drop it, and so am I, because I feel like I’m beating my head against a wall, and I’m sure they do too (seeing how as they called the entire discussion “ridiculous”, which I disagree with but will leave it there)....

[trigger warning: discussion of validity]
neonights:
You assume here that being trans* (something which is possible in the brain chemistry) is the same as being elven. The brain chemistry in a human can physically be genderfluid, trans, etc.
Elves to you may be real. However, elves are mythical creatures. You cannot say that you are an elf without adding in personal belief. Myth to you may be real. I cannot say that it is not real...

Eventually, I swear
I will go back to posting my Otherkin challenge and posting fun things and heartfelt little anecdotes about my spiritual interactions and pictures and things like that.
For the time being, I am angry, and I am at a point where I do not care to restrain myself. I have had enough of trying to be level-headed and objective for the sake of not being considered “too emotional”. My...

What I have a big problem with:
And remember there is no “evidence” that people’s brains work a different way when they are gay. There was not until recently, “evidence” that trans* people have any kind of different brain. There was no evidence. But we accept these things exist now, because enough people say, “this hurts me and affects me”.
Let me educate...

To the buttface on Kinspeak:
Oh, and to the assbutt on Kinspeak. Hi. I’m PM. I am this Elven person’s BEST FRIEND thank you.
I accept their identity as valid. Know what? I don’t believe in reincarnation. Do I think that they’re lying? No. Do I tell them that LOL NO YOUR ID DOES NOT EXIST I AM NOT GONNA ACCEPT IT? No. Because that would make me a douche. I accept this Elven person and their identity,...

kinspeak:
Take an identification of a reincarnated elf for instance. It’s not just acceptance of identity here. Ok, so the person identifies as an elf. Cool.
But to expect other people to believe it goes beyond mere acceptance of identity. You are asking the person to believe that Elves some how exist, that reincarnation happens, that elves reincarnate if it does, that elves can reincarnate...

pareidolicperspective:
I know I’m not a straight-up animal, at least. There are a few creatures that I feel a strong affinity for, but nothing I’ve seen that’s struck me like “that is me”, you know? Pretty sure my kintype is something mythical.
Gimme websites. I did some googling last night and didn’t really find a whole lot.
Lemme see what I got.

New otherkin articles, projects, blogs

New web-sites Walking Between Worlds, a collection of essays written by two anonymous Vanir elves: one, an otherkin, the other, her spirit companion.

Just wanted to say hello to all the fellow aliens and elves out there! My kintype originates on another planet in another universe, but a group came to earth and became part of elven legend and lore. Sometimes I feel a bit lonely, but then I remember that I have a whole human life to play with. I think it’s a real gift for us to be both human and our kintypes. We have the ability to...

Otherkin/Non-Human 30 Day Challenge - Day 8
Do you believe there should be non-human pride? What do you imagine it being like?
I don’t know. It’s an interesting thing to ask, since there are so many different sorts of otherkin. But then, with any other group for which there is Pride, they’re just as diverse, right? I don’t know. I hesitate to say that otherkin, as a community, are more diverse, but when it comes down to inter-species...

Otherkin/Non-Human 30 Day Challenge - Day 7
Do you have a favorite non-human character?
Oh, probably several. Most of them in the MarvelU. I’m sure it also depends on what you define as “non-human”. For instance, I could make an argument that Han Solo isn’t human, because he exists in a galaxy far, far away, meaning the chance of him being human (assuming Star Wars does in fact take place a long, long time ago) is next to nil. We...
