Otherkin/Non-human 30 Day Challenge - Day 20
I just realised I’ve been working on this damn thing for over six months.  Fuck. @_@ If I ever finish it, I’ll go back and revise the answers that have changed in that time. 20. Tell us a few thoughts about what it’s like being your species. I actually made a post about this a couple of months ago. :3  It’s kinda short, but there you go.  This question has been holding me up...

Please Help
thanamors: heathenqueer: Is there anywhere you can put it where she won’t get to it?  Or do you have a way to cleanse it if she does touch it?  Also, have you told her why you don’t want her touching those things?  An explanation might help, though I suppose that’s dependant on whether or not she understands and respects your beliefs.  (Which, it doesn’t sound like is the case, but I don’t...

Please Help
thanamors: My aunt keeps trying to go through my bag of tarot cards and runes and such. I’ve told her to cut that shit out but I keep catching her in it. Any ideas as to what to do? I really really hate it when people touch that stuff, especially without permission. Is there anywhere you can put it where she won’t get to it?  Or do you have a way to cleanse it if she does touch it?...

loveoflopt: littlecitywitch: witchcuntt: Doll used in spells rituals =/= “Voodoo dolls”. Not every damn doll used in magic can be carelessly slapped with that label. Pretty much the only time you can use that term accurately is if you’re a Vodouist and are using a doll. Otherwise it’s a poppet. From what I can… LOL WUT. Are people really this stupid ignorant? Yes, apparently so. Luckily...

All My Praise For This I Bring
blackthirteen: fyeahtransqueers: I wrote this poem as an experiment in writing about queer experiences in a Southern voice. I’ve lived in Texas all of my life and I am in love with Southern Lit and Southern storytelling traditions. :) I’m not sure if your blog accepts poetry, but I wanted to send it in anyway. All My Praise For This I Bring You made me fall in love with, boys, men, in their...

Being Queer-identified and Heathen: Safe Spaces
dewognatos: sinnsreachdheathen: Let me first say thank you to everyone who submitted their experiences to me, you were an excellent help! They were a great inspiration and though they will remain anonymous, this post is built on their personal experiences from the perspectives of Heathen and Reconstructionist LGBTQ+ people. I will write this solely from a Heathen perspective as well. Let me...

Tired.
What do you do when you find yourself unable to meditate?  I can’t seem to concentrate long enough to go under, even though I’m usually pretty good at it.  Meditating in silence isn’t working for me right now, so I decided to find some rhythmic sound loops in hopes that it would help me into trance state, but I’m too scattered for that to even work. I’m not sure if...

Horns of Odin
fantasticallore: The three horns symbolize the three draughts Odin drank. The mead was made from the blood of a wise god, Kvasir, and whoever drank it would benefit from the wisdom of God. The horns are both a phallic and masculine symbol, as well as encompassing the female aspect. The symbol appears in stone carvings over warriors heads, implying reward in Valhalla.

An evening to myself.
Which is…a blessing and a curse, I suppose.  It means being apart from my girlfriend (and I really, really do not deal with sleeping alone very well), but it means I’ve got time to do some practicing and meditation and the like. I’m considering going out before it gets too much darker and finding some rocks to build an altar to Thor.  We’re bound to have some large enough...

childofthefoxes: Not necessarily those who post o/t related things, just folk who aren’t judgmental towards me for it. I need more magic on my dash. Sorry to bother those watching these tags.  Hi! Watching a programme on OWN
about psychics.  It’s an episode of Beyond Belief.  I really have no idea why I’m watching it, or why I’ve watched nearly all of it now, because it has succeeded in offending me and annoying me several dozen times thus far. Oh well. It’s interesting, honestly, because I like watching how sensationalised perfectly mundane things can be.  And how hardcore some people can be...

loveoflopt: Well, again you could try setting that boundary- one time make it clear that forgetting to formally dismiss isn’t an invitation to hang around and ask that he leave after your conversations even if you don’t remember to properly dismiss him. loveoflopt: heathenqueer: Could be.  I don’t make offerings to him because most of the things I’ve read from Lokeans say that Loki either doesn’t particularly want offerings or really has nothing he prefers and is hit-or-miss about accepting them.  The only one I really make offerings to is Thor.  Anything you’d recommend offering Loki? Personally, I think it’s more a proximity thing—Tyro...

On fictionkin and the definition thereof.
There’s another argument going down on my dash about how to define the term “fictionkin” (synonymous with “otakukin” and “mediakin”), because apparently it was defined one way pre-Tumblr and has been defined another way on Tumblr.  This crosses my dash once a month or so, which on the one hand is understandable because it makes for difficulty in...

Fae are radical beauty.
swanblood: When I see people complaining about how “a fat person can’t be fae”, “a black person doesn’t look right as fae”, because the image in their head is an image of the current Western idea of slim, white, normative female beauty, I want to say… What makes you think fae care about your Western culture beauty standards? What makes you think fae care about modern beauty standards when many...
